Our first trip of the minor was to the NXT Museum. Here is some photos I took during our trip. I really enjoyed this visit as I felt there was a lot to learn, I learnt so much about the different types of interactive media and how immersion doesn't mean you need projection mapping and VR, you can do it with great visuals and where the audience is immersed
My favourite installation was "Viatrix’s Odyssey" by Harriet Davy. I really enjoyed this installation as it was staged between each installation in the exhibit and acted as a pallet cleanser as well as a continuous story about identity and what it means to be human. I also loved the art style and how the texture of the creature in the piece was so varied. Some sections were wet whereas others were very dry. The eyes were crammed with detail that helped the immersion and the feeling that would could be something from the real world and not the virtual one
We then had to create a PowerPoint based on the artist of our favourite installation. As my group (Harriet Davey) and the group for The Fabricant were very small and had a very similar message, we decided to work together.

I did research into the other pieces of Harriet Davey. I found this collection she had done called, "Digitial Fairy Tales." which was based on the tales of King Arthur and his advice Merlin. I loved how the two types of fantasy (classic and modern) were coming together and creating something even more beautiful than before.
